Eligible Players

Registration is open for boys and girls ages 4 thru 6 who reside in the Worthington School District or attend a private school within the Worthington School District.

All Children who will turn 4 before May 15th are invited to join this fun league!  Children not yet 4 years old by the start of the season can not play unless under extraordinary circumstances.

6 year olds are encouraged to play in the "Coach Pitch Lite" league if they have experience and/or demonstrate ability to understand the rules and execute basic skills.  However, 6 year olds with no experience or those who need a little more experience are welcomed to play in T-ball before moving on to coach pitch.

Girls are welcomed to play WYB T-ball, however WYB has a separate softball program.  See www.WorthingtonSoftball.org for more information.

Teams & Coaches

Teams will be formed immediately after the registration deadline.  We try to form teams based on Elementary School attended (or scheduled to attend).  We make every attempt to honor any special requests.

We have a particularly high need for coaches at this level as we prefer to have smaller rosters to give the young players more action and attention.  Schools/neighborhoods without a coaching volunteer will likely have to be dispersed among other teams and won't be able to be kept together.

Practices and Games

Practices will start during mid May. Games will start the end of May and run thru early July. Teams will typically have 3 events each week.

Practices/Games during the week typically start around 6:00 (potentially as early as 5:30) and last for around an hour.  There is typically a game each Saturday morning or early afternoon.  Sundays and Fridays are used more makeups or supplemental practices.

Games are typically played at McCord Park.  Practices are usually at either McCord Park or one of the various elementary school fields around town.

The schedule will not be finalized until registration has closed, and teams have been formed.

Equipment

Parents are responsible for buying baseball pants. Baseball pants are not required and many kids wear shorts, although protection for sliding would be recommended. Kids may wear tennis shoes or rubber baseball/soccer cleats.

Tee Ball uniforms are not provided by WYB.  Uniforms are available for purchase at Egelhoff Sports.  All Tee Ball participants should have the following uniform:

HOME Red Shirt (100% cotton)
AWAY Blue Shirt (100% cotton)
Worthington Baseball cap

The cost of numbering or naming the back of the shirt is already included in the price, however, we strongly suggest that participants wait until after teams are formed before numbering/naming their shirts to avoid duplications.  This service will be provided free-of-charge.
