Introducing Coach Pitch Rookies

New for 2019!  In response to a large movement of 6 year olds wanting to play coach pitch, and also in response to concerns of 6 year old beginners playing with 8 year old veterans, we are creating a new division for 2019 called "Coach Pitch Rookies."  The league is meant to be a bridge between Tee Ball and Coach Pitch made up of primarily Kindergartners.

Batters will get 3 chances to hit pitched balls, and then use a Tee if they do not hit a fair ball.  This will give these coach pitch beginners a chance to hit pitching, but still ensure they'll get the fun and experience of making contact and running the bases, creating lots of action and developmental chances for all the players on the field.

The isolation of 6 year olds will also help coaches adminster more appropriate practices, as 6 year olds in Tee ball were often too far ahead of their smaller teammates and 6 year olds in Coach Pitch were often too far beding their more experienced teammates.

For more information, see the Coach Pitch Rookies page and look for registration to open April 1st!

WYB Bat Rules

Only small barrel bats (2 1/4 ") are permitted in the WYB Recreation baseball league.  Big Barrel bats (2 5/8 " or 2 3/4 ") are prohibited due to player safety.

If players violate this rule, they will be ejected from the game.

It will be the coaches responsibility to assure that their players are using "legal" bats.

WYB Baseball General Information

Through the link at the top of this page (Documents) you can access several key documents: WYB Coaching Principles, an umpire application, information about umpire training, three codes of conduct, one each for parents, players and coaches, and a list of approved composite bats. Please familiarize yourself with the documents that are relevant to you. WYB expects all coaches, players and family members to conduct themselves appropriately at all WYB events. We are all role models for every child we encounter.

Please visit each division for specific information about that division. Various documents relevant to each division will be available there.

The WYB Baseball Program is looking for dedicated volunteers to help us enhance our program. Please contact us at   if you can help and thank you in advance!
